1. The Surreal Numbers
John H.Conway FRS, Finite Mathematics, John Von Neumann chair, Princeton University (USA)

Abstract
Over a century ago, Georg Cantor discovered the infinite ordinal numbers, that continue where the traditional counting sequence 0.1,2.3,... leaves off. and can be used to count arbitrary collections.

The Surreal Numbers are a very simply-defined system of numbers that includes not only the familiar real numbers and the infinite ordinal numbers, as well as their negatives and reciprocals (which are of course infinitesimal numbers), but hosts of other numbers too.
After discussing the infinite ordinal numbers. I'll explain just what the surreal numbers are, and tell you how they were found by studying children's games.

2. General Principles for Brain Design
Brian D. Josephson FRS, Department of Physics, University of Cambridge (UK)

Abstract
To understand a complicated system such as the nervous system requires use of all relevant concepts, facilitating the creation of applicable models, which models can expose important interrelationships, and the underlying logic of the system; as a preliminary to more detailed study. With computer programs and artificial mechanisms, and in much of biology, we have a conceptual understanding of this kind, but in the case of the nervous system such understanding, in contexts such as that of linguistic skills, largely eludes us.

A key point in our attempts to make progress in this area is our treatment of specialization: associated with each specialization is a corresponding abstraction, in terms of which the design issue for the performances associated with given specialization can be formulated, the corresponding nervous system structures representing a particular solution to the design issue for the specialization domain, this providing the means whereby the general problem of the nervous system is partitioned into component parts. Assembly of these parts into the whole is a more difficult problem, but parallels between the brain and digital computers suggest this can be seen. as a mailer of 'porting' concepts from one domain to the other, including the issue of realization in hardware of processes with an initial "paper characterization'', which realization is partly a matter of initial design and partly the result of specialized developmental activity driven by specialized mechanisms.

Development can he subsumed under the concept "seeking all the information that's fit to use (in ways dictated by the abstract models governing the various specializations. Some specializations are concerned with the development of more abstract levels of functioning, the relevant models here being related to 'meta-activity’ i.e. activity related to ordinary activity in a sufficiently regular manner that it can be used as reliable preparation for activity. An important form of regular relationship involves those between language and that to which language refers: complex though such relationships are, they are derivable from more basic ones reflecting fundamental aspects of language systems, such relationships developing as language users "explore all the methods that are effective in use'', creating thereby specialized language systems, that serve to systematize meta-activity in genera.

From the anticipatory systems point of view, we are dealing with systems that through the effects of natural selection, have learnt to anticipate specific types of situation, and whose architectures enables these activities to be coordinated.

Abstract

Recently published facts (A,B,C….etc) plus other established ones (i, ii, iii…) are cited in relation to quantum mechanical (mathematical language) description, in support of the hypothesis that a candidate ‘fact (A)’,described below, exists for ‘alternative (a)’ in Leggett’s incisive Einstein’s Legacy viewpoint in Science, 307, 2005, on ‘The Quantum Measurement (QM) Problem’[1]. ‘Alternative (a)’ says that “QM is the complete truth about the physical world (in the sense that it will always give reliable predictions concerning the nature of experiments) at all levels and describes an external reality” In particular, ‘facts (D, E & F)’ provide a description of an irreversible (time reversal asymmetric) quantum measurement evolutionary cosmology, where, as the result of spontaneous symmetry breaking, 3+1 space-time & the experimentally validated strong, weak & electromagnetic quantizations (including spin) of Standard Model elementary particle physics, both emerge from their empty set, which describes the cosmology’s initial quantum preparation/boundary condition (without which any description of the physical world in the QM formalism cannot be meaningful).

2. Anticipation is Nowhere and its Logic is Nothing
Michael A. Heather & B. Nick Rossiter Northumbria University. UK. NEI 8ST
rn.heather@unn.ae.uk

Keywords: universal logic, zero, negation, anticipation.

Abstract
Where does the anticipation reside in an anticipatory system? The ultimate origin of anything is usually taken to be nothing, but what is nothing? Nothing plays quite a role in cosmological thinking from the earliest theology where God creates the world out of nothing and humans out of dust up to modern theories where everything comes from nothing. In many of these theories the nothing is not nothing but is something.

In the realm of mathematics there is the null set which requires a fall panoply of possible axioms to define it. There is zero which presupposes some number field like the so-called natural numbers, real numbers, imaginary numbers, surreals and so on, together with arithmetic operations generally presented as axioms such as those of Peano. There is the null string which as an ordered triple needs some pre-concept of ordering. In the realm of physics there is the void and the vacuum which themselves presuppose some concept of an empty container. Then there are more physical originating objects like dust or dark matter or the fundamental particles of the standard model. Somewhere between are concepts like Aristotle's entelechies and Leibniz' monads.

However anticipation seems to assume a more fundamental form of nothing. Before both mathematics and physics lies logic. There is the logic of nothing. Indeed classical logic itself is not built on any firm foundation. There is a difficulty in interpreting the nature of zero in logic because it is at the foundations of logic itself. It is necessary to go to a wider workspace provided by category theory which has a constructive origin namely the arrow. The arrow has a built-in direction that gives rise to the concept of negation but distinguishes negation, zero, the null set and the null string from one another.

Category theory, as Rosen observed, is more like natural language than mathematics. It has the characteristics of universal logic which arises solely from adjointness°° as a natural construction from the concept of the arrow, without inherent negation or zero as can be demonstrated in the theory of the topos or the practical application to the test sentence of logicians. 'John said that Mary believed he did not love her'

It is in the nothingness which is nowhere that is the source of anticipation that resides in every anticipatory system.

°° Comment by Michael Heather - The fundamental thrust is that adjointness is the way the Universe hangs together. It's an old idea of Lawvere's that adjuncts could replace the foundations of mathematics. “Adjointness is the logic of the Universe”. Please see the paper in Advanced Studies in Mathematics and Logic 2 39-52 (2005) at http://computing.unn.ac.uk/staff/CGNR1/advstudiesmathsmonism.pdf

Observables as self adjoint and hermitian in the Bohr/Dirac/Hilbert/Von Neumann approach are really classical models of limits and colimits in CT which are right and exact valued adjoint functors. Likewise the spectral theorem is a local version of the subobject classification of a topos which escapes from the Boolean logic of the spectral theorem.

3. Fermion Interactions and Mass Generation in the Nilpotent Formalism
Peter Rowlands Department of Physics. University of Liverpool, Oliver Lodge Laboratory. Oxford St. Liverpool. L69 7ZE, UK. p.rowlands@liverpool.ac.uk (invited speaker)

Keywords: nilpotent, mass gap, baryon, Higgs mechanism, vacuum

Abstract The relative signs associated with the energy and momentum operators used in representing the nilpotent Dirac state vectors of fermions and anti-fermions are a direct indication of the interactions to which these particles are subject, and also of the processes by which mass is generated from the vacuum. Strong, weak and electric interactions and the acquisition of nonzero mass by fermions and bosons can all be related to the nilpotent structure. Of special significance is the baryon state vector, whose particular structure suggests the actual mechanism by which the strong interaction between the component quarks takes place. The baryon state vector and those for the gluons are structured in such a way that the interaction requires a change of sign of the momentum operator. The necessary existence of two signs for this operator is a direct indication of the presence of mass. This will be presented as a direct and analytic solution of the mass gap problem. A similar analysis leads to an elucidation of the structure of the sign-changing and mass generation involved in the electro-weak SU(2)LU(1). In addition, the structures of spin 1 and spin 0 bosons show how the nilpotent structure of their component parts leads directly to the Higgs mechanism.

Keywords: Quaternion, complex number, rewrite system, universal alphabet, nilpotent Dirac equation.

Abstract We present D, a symbol that can be used in the universal alphabet that provides a computational path to the nilpotent Dirac equation (Diaz & Rowlands, 2004) and which results in a tractable computer representation of the infinite square roots of -1, We outline how the representation is derived, the properties of the representation, and how the form can be used. Think of D as an infinite table of 1’s in any representation e.g. binary or hexadecimal. Any specified column Di of the table has the property that when multiplied with a row Di, the result is a representation of –1. Di multiplied with Dj anti-commutes as – (Dj*Di) and produces Dk in a way identical to Hamilton's quaternion i, j, and k. With an infinite and uniquely identifiable set of such triad forms D can be considered both a symbol and because of this behaviour, an alphabet.

5. Quantum State Tomography of Nanostructures and the Heisenberg Nilpotent Lie Group Model of Quantum Information Processing.

Abstract The idea of quantum holography continues to attract much interest, especially as demands for high-capacity, high-speed storage and processing continue to grow. The unitary dual of the three dimensional Heisenberg nilpotent Lie group provides a universal mathematical model of quantum holography and its various realizations in the field of modern high technology. The range of applications of this sophisticated nonlinear model of symplectic spinors includes quantum state tomography of nanostructures, quantum information processing, computer aided non invasive radiological diagnosis, the artificial intelligence of rediscovering the fundamental laws of Kepplerian mathematical astronomy. and even the quantum cosmology of black and white holes.

The paper is concerned with an introduction to nilpotent harmonic analysis and quantum holography.

Due to the importance of quantum entanglement in the field of quantum information processing, special emphasis is laid on the group of automorphisms of the three dimensional Heisenberg nilpotent Lie group.

The CD presentation illustrates the application of quantum state tomography to the pioneering Panorama 1.0 T Open Scanner system of clinical magnetic resonance imaging that seemed intractable and contradictory just a few years ago in the era of conventional 1.5 T magnetic resonance scanner systems Fulfilling the desire of clinicians since the dawn of open magnetic resonance imaging systems, the novel Panorama 1.0 T Open Scanner system works according to quantum holographic principles with twin actively shielded magnets of small fringe fields which generate a vertical magnetic field density of quantum stale tomography. The unique vertical magnetic field density design of the new Panorama 1.0 T Open Scanner system delivers non-invasively high resolution magnetic resonance images in a patient friendly spacious scanning environment even of the beating heart: Seeing is Believing.

6. De Tracy's Ideology of Standard Units and the Separation of the Logics of the Mechanical from the Logics of the Nano, Chemical and Biological Sciences
Jerry LR. Chandler, Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study George Mason University Fairfax. VA USA Jerry _LR_Chandler@Mac.com

Abstract The incommensurability of symbol systems used in the physical/engineering and the chemical/ biological sciences prevents the composition of natural relations of living systems. Historically, our philosophy of science is derived from the late 18th Century ideology of de Tracy. Economic necessity motivated the development of systems of measure in terms of natural objects. Distance, volume, weight, and so forth were related to the earth’s meridian, a volume of water, the mass of the water volume, and so forth. This system, known as MKS units, is based on multiplicative relations that allowed unbounded extension from the infinitely large to the infinitely small. Inadvertently this system of continuous measure excluded the individual denomination of the chemical elements and of chemical structures (such as DNA.) Such infinitesimal structures are not infinitely divisible, Consequently the usual arithmetic operations are not applicable to the relations among chemical species. (For example, the conservation rules of chemistry do not permit the multiplication of the symbol for helium (the same as 2) by the number three (3) to obtain carbon (the same as 6.)) Thus the logic for the natural sciences must be extended to include the mathematics of the chemical and biological sciences.

The denomination of chemical structures (polynomials) corresponds with enumerations of spatial relations among individual chemical particles. Such participial illations generate two new mathematical structures, labeled bipartite graphs and patroids. These mathematical structures symbolize the participial relations between electrical particles as informed matter without invoking dynamic equations. The term sublation defines an existential /electrical illative from the chemical number system of spatial chemical denominations to the mathematical number system (of relations as arithmetic operations of denotations). Sublation generates illative consistency between the denominative spatial relations of particles and MKS system of measures.

Without negating physical principles, participial logics of the commutative illations provide for consistent relations between the concepts of number and of chemical / biological structures. Participial logic links the existential relations between the synthetic symbol systems used in biological (genetic) information theory and mechanical (Shannon) information theory. Composing numerical relations among the electrical properties of matter generates a systematic structural philosophy consistent with biologic emergence.

7. Is Dark Matter Quantum Coherent in Astrophysical Scales?
Matti Juharu Pitkanen

Keywords: Bohr quantization, planets, macroscopic quantum coherence, dark matter, living matter

Abstract There exists a considerable evidence that astrophysical objects obey quantization rules with a gigantic value of Planck constant. Nottale and Da Rocha explain the findings in terms of fractal hydrodynmics modellable in terms of Schrodinger equation with an effective Planck constant whose general form is fixed by Equivalence Principle, In this article an interpretation as a genuine quantum effect based on quantization of Planck constant allowing dark matter to be quantum coherent in astrophysical scales is discussed. The model predicts correctly the value of the velocity parameter appearing in the gravitational Planck constant and explains the appearance of its harmonics and sub-harmonics, A quantum model for the formation of planetary system is proposed. Some numerical coincidences support the view that quantum coherent dark matter could be also responsible for the properties of living matter.

8.The Doubling Theory Corrects the Titius-Bode Law and Defines the Fine-Structure Constant in the Solar System
Jean-Pierre Garnier Malet , Paris, France
jpgarma@free.fr

Keywords: fundamental movement of doubling. spaces doubling; times doubling.

Abstract The law of Titius-Bode gives an empirical relationship (4+3x2n). It tempts us to define the distances of the planets to the sun but becomes totally false for the Neptune and Pluto. More, it doesn't know of the Don Cloud and the Kuipper's Belt.

The fundamental movement of Doubing Theory [1] allows us to understand the cyclic times doubling in the cyclic spaces in star systems. It justifies and corrects this law in a rigorous way. The doubling gives to any particle the possibility of anticipation and hyperincursion into its horizon [2]. It defines the solar cycle of 25920 years that touches currently its end. It defines and calculates also the fine-structure constant (a=l/137), Apparently, gravitation and electromagnetism are separated areas but their force is in 1/r2. This analogy of power renders possible the modelling of the two and, with the help of the fundamental doubling movement, to calculate this constant.

Keywords: Direction of particles in time, united fields theory, quantum entanglement, antimatter, collapse of the wave function

Abstract Feynman's suggestion that antiparticles may be considered w be particles that travel backwards in time is analyzed logically. It is suggested that if there is no force of anti-gravitation between particles and antiparticles, then time may have two perpendicular and independent dimensions. Since particles that travel in a certain temporal direction are indistinguishable from antiparticles traveling in the opposite temporal direction, each particle has two entangled opposite temporal directions, and therefore two opposite entangled electrical charges. Therefore every atom is an entanglement of atoms of matter and antimatter, with very high amplitude to be matter. Therefore there is a very small amplitude that two colliding atoms will be annihilated when they collide. It is proved that atoms comprising a solid macroscopic body cannot participate in such annihilation, while gaseous atoms may participate. Two possible empirical situations in which there is higher than usual probability that such annihilation may be detected are described. One of them is the possible emission of high energy photons by cooled gases, and the second is the suggestion that sonoluminescence may involve the annihilation of colliding gaseous atoms, materialized as atoms of matter and antimatter, and its secondary effects.

10. The Significance of "Advanced" and "Retarded" Signals for a Transactional Interpretation of Cortical Synchronization: Lessons from the Kosyrev Effect for the Absorber Theory of Quantum Brain Dynamics
Uwe Kaempf Dresden University of Technology Germany

Abstract Ideomotoric theory explains developmental and executive aspects of sensory action control departing from the proposition that currently on going behaviour is perceptually guided by the anticipated consequences of its own future effects. However, the neuronal signals, due to considerable transmission latencies,. are "retarded" with respect to the actual state of the organism and its environment. Therefore, standard ideomotoric approach is forced to assume that the "advanced" future states, should obviously be anticipated, i.e. predicted by computing from memories of earlier experiences with similar situations. The present paper discusses an alternative view which is rooted, in opposition to the "computing" approach of the AI tradition, rather in the "tuning" view of J.J. Gibson and his followers. Proponents of the latter view argue that an organism has to compute no more than its environment, because its sensory systems are conceived to be coupled in resonance with the relevant environmental states. Therefore, the critical question is; How could it be possible that an organism, though the neuronal transfer function of its input is "retarded" with respect to the actual environmental states, might be brought into resonance with these ''advanced" perceptual changes, caused by the output of its own future locomotion which actually hasn't even started?

A straightforward answer to this question might be possibly rooted in the transactional interpretation of quantum mechanics. Based on the Wheeler-Feynman absorber theory, it accounts for seemingly time-reversed anomalous resonance coupling effects between spatially distant partners of entangled quantum states (Einslein-Podolsky-Rosen paradoxes, quantum non-locality, teleportation). These anomalies are explained by the proposal of a hypothetical time-reversed transaction from the absorber site) between "retarded" and "advanced'' components in the collapsing wave function e.g. of a light beam. Beyond the quantum mechanical micro scale, indices for a similar absorber site driven resonance coupling effect have probably been found at the cosmological macro level too. In the 1980s, the soviet astronomers Kosyrev and Nasonov inspected the Andromeda galaxy by means of a reflector telescope with a newly developed crystal (ecd) detector of piezoelectric sensitivity. Instead of a single picture of Andromeda they found three of them: first, the ordinary 2 million light years old one at the location coincident with the light source, a second one at the place our neighbour galaxy is now and yet a third at a place in the future, the galaxy will have arrived 2 million light years ahead. Hypothetically, the Kosyrev effect might be explained by a certain mechanism of anticipative resonance coupling with the "advanced'' future positions of stellar objects expanding to the same time scale as their gravitational effects are "retarded" due to the limitations of light speed. Thus. it may provide a solution to Poincare's problem of the stability of the universe (the hyperincursive solution for keeping track in a hierarchy of circularly moving object). As shown previously by Dubois, anticipation is needed in macro cosmological feed-back loops in order to avoid entrainment towards a chaotic attractor.

This seems applicable to an advanced-resonance coupling solution for cortical synchronisation and ideomotoric action control too, since our brain's micro architecture may be conceived as an analogue to an hierarchical intertwined system of harmonic oscillators with retarded feedback loops. Neuronal loops are fed into a network of so-called synfire chains, the timing of which is critically dependent on anticipatory predictions of the next input in order to adjust their output in a way which stabilizes the non-linear brain dynamics. In fact, our brain's interhemispheric communication, necessary to account for micro timing of stereo vision, might be based on a "tuning into the future'' mechanism using the same quantum ‘cosmological’ resonance as shown by the Kosyrev effect in order to get a synchronous visual flow in both - left and right - brain's halves, the temporarily delayed information of the left and right eyes' visual hemi-fields, which are initially processed in different hemispheres. should be integrated with anticipated versions of their counterparts in order to close the time gap. Finally, popular experimental data, e.g. about iconic memory, backward masking and especially the one’s of the Libet experiments under discussion, may be reinterpreted in line with the hypothesis of an absorber theory for quantum brain dynamics. These experiments show a paradoxical time difference between an action which is already under way, on the one hand, and the decision to do so, which has been chronometrically located much later than the action onset itself. Therefore, a standard theory came to the conclusion denying the existence of our free will. Alternatively, the transactional ideomotoric approach, in line with the proposals of Wheeler-Feynman, Cramer & Wolfe, predicts a resonance driven backdating of the retarded decision to the advanced real time focus of the action under way, a hypothesis which is consistent with the lessons from the Kosyrev effect.

11.Watergates-Logic Operations in Water
Cyril W. Smith
Retired from University of Salford, UK e-mail cyri 1 .smith «jwh ichnet.

Keywords: Water, Coherence, Frequency, Logic Gates. Living Systems.

Abstract In a previous paper which the writer presented at CASYS'01, "Learning From Water, a Possible Quantum Computing Medium", the properties of coherent systems were applied to frequencies in water and living systems. It was shown that the basic arithmetical operations could be performed on these frequencies. Frequency is known to be able to effect an isomeric transition.

It has now been possible to demonstrate as a bench-top experiment using somewhat similar arrangements that the basic reversible logic gates and their operations can be implemented. Any reversible Boolean function can be computed by the reversible logic gale N (not), CN (control-not) and CCN (control-control-not). With reversible logic gates, knowledge of the output states enables one to determine the input states unambiguously. Irreversibility leads to de-coherence and heal dissipation.

The logic states are represented by the arbitrary choice of 0 and 1 made on the basis of the biological effects of frequencies imprinted into water. For a 1, the imprint was that giving stimulus to a biological system, for a 0 the imprint was that giving a depressive effect. These phases can be recognized by the dowsing response obtained from the frequency imprinted water. The 1 and 0 probably represent two specific phases of a macroscopic wave function. Coherence in water leads to fractal properties for frequency. The proportionality of frequency and velocity of coherence propagation (at constant coherence length) leads to the possibility of anticipatory signals being sent through suitable choice of frequencies which could be selected through critical angle transmission/reflection at an interface. Whether appropriate spatial arrangements of suitable cells actually exist in living systems remains to be investigated. The voltage pulses of nerve activity would be sufficiently large to effect such gate operations.

12. Conscious Choice (Topological Transitions in Reality States)
Otto van Nieuwenhuijze Independent Research Scientist !7-2 Gerard DouStraat, Amsterdam. the Netherlands

Keywords: Human Body, Topology, Logic, System Inversion, Dynamic Integrity

Abstract Our body offers interesting clues to the nature of consciousness. The key lies in coherent changes of degrees of freedom. Within our body it is possible to relate these to the development of the human, from animal, vegetable and mineral forms in nature. It is possible to identify these as functional principles seen in the Holy Bone (pelvis), the Hara (gut area), the Heart (chest area) and the head (brain system). The operational principles at play can be represented by the topologies of a sphere, a torus, a lemniscate and a bommonean ring; i.e. a geometric sequence in which each next level contains the previous one by adding a topological folding. These topological transitions represent an added dimension in which the living system can function in a co-ordinate way in its context. Together they define a cascade in which the system can be seen to operate in a ongoing state of dynamic inversion. The relationship between a sensory cell, nerve, plexus and brain illustrates the corresponding principle of system inversion. This helps understand the role and function of the organs, and helps realize the system stability (this basis of health and disease). Most interesting is that, and how. these dimensional constructs can be recognized to exist side by side in the body, yet they function as an integral system (with a possibility of a fall-back of the complex form to the primary forms, as is the case in the sleep cycle and changes of consciousness and/or awareness. Paraphrasing this system of logic, it can be considered to be our instrument for navigating reality states.

13. The Blind Spot of Science (Understanding Life, Live, Consciousness and Health)
Otto van Nieuwenhuijze Independent Research Scientist 17-2 Gerard DouStraat, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

Keywords: Science, System. Singularity, Scientist, Systematic studies

Abstract Science is a construct of conditioned collective consensus. The social dynamics that play a role in determining the outcome (science) are determined by the scientists. The scientist is the most important singularity of science, and needs to be taken into account in order to understand the outcome and meaning of science. The subjective sensation of the scientist stands at the basis of all objective findings. The relationship between objective data and subjective sensations can in part be explained by interactions between scientists. Another part of the explanation requires insight into the internal functioning of the scientists themselves, to the most basic level. This requires an explicit formulation of the role of Consciousness (subjective involvement) to complement the standard formulations in terms of Space, Time and Energy. Therein, the duality of Space-Time and Energy-Consciousness helps understand the duality of Consciousness-Energy (Life) and Energy-Consciousness (Qi ). Both terms are of fundamental importance in understanding the principles of information processing in our body (Consciousness); and the way they form our body (Healing). Our body thereby offers many examples of the way these principles can be understood and applied, i.e. in integrating all forms of healing.
